We are organizing such a virtual hackathon to discover innovative digital and hardware ideas for something as fundamental to human beings as sex. In the current crisis situation when people are socially and physically separated we need to look at this area from a different point of view. Our bodies, our feelings, our relationships… there's so much room for improvement! A diverse range of voices and ideas are urgently needed to find new and innovative ways to use technology to deliver sex education, products and services for sexual health and wellness, assault reporting and dating.

We would like to unite people of all sexual orientations and identities to come together in a virtual hackathon to hack new tech businesses around sex. Entrepreneurship and technology will walk hand in hand to discover new businesses, products and talents. SexTech - apps, platforms, wearables, hardware, VR, AR, AI, streaming,… the possibilities are endless.

SexTech is any technology designed with the intention of enhancing human sexuality and human sexual experience. As an industry, SexTech is already estimated to be worth $20B and is set to become one of the fastest-growing multi-billion dollar industries in the next few years. The key value of SexTech products and services is that they are designed around relationships, bringing new ideas of intimacy, pleasure and desire to the human experience.

Gathering together in teams, participants will innovate, and depending on the expertise of the team, generate a working prototype, whether this is a technology product, a design or a campaign. We welcome people of all job descriptions, whether you're a designer, developer, marketer, entrepreneur, project manager, therapist or sexologist. Diverse groups often work incredibly well together to produce the best results.

We also have put together a group of experienced hackathon organizers and experts. During the Hackathon, participants and teams will be advised by invited mentors who work professionally with different areas (tech, business, design, health, etc.).

Solutions may cover any of the areas associated with sexual experience from sexual health and well-being, to personal safety, choice of sexual experiences, personal dignity in sex, games, entertainment and dating experiences. We will form teams around the following topics: Privacy and Security, Education, Health, Tech (software and hardware).

We expect some criticism about this event and timing, but we believe that with courage, creativity and power of our community we can build an inclusive, healthier society, as well as a safer and more enjoyable private life for everyone.
